On-Air Staff

Predators Hockey

104-5 The Zone is the flagship station of your Nashville Predators. Follow the Preds in the Zone home and away with Pete Weber, Terry Crisp and Willy Daunic.

WGFX will carry all preseason, regular season and post-season Predators games that do not conflict with its previous broadcast commitments. All regular-season and playoff games will include a post-game show, with those following home games originating from the Sommet Center’s Suite Level Club.

WGFX afternoon personality Willy Daunic will be the primary host for radio broadcasts, providing game analysis, player interviews and profiles, NHL scores and highlights before, during and after the final horn. 104.5 The Zone will continue to be the home of hockey on Nashville’s radio dial in 2007-08, airing player/coach shows, game-day updates, weekly reports and additional weekly programming.

TOM CALLAHAN, PLAY-BY-PLAY

Tom Callahan, a sportscaster with 10 seasons of professional hockey experience, will call the action for the club’s 55 games that air on Fox Sports South, and will join the longtime team of Pete Weber (play-by-play) and Terry Crisp (color analyst) for the other 27 contests.

Callahan enters his second season with the Nashville Predators broadcast team in 2009-10. Callahan will continue to assume radio play-by-play duties on the Predators radio network for the 55 Predators games aired on FS Tennessee, while contributing to the other 27 broadcasts as a rink-side reporter for all games that are not televised (or are televised exclusively by a national rightsholder). For those games, the 12-season team of Pete Weber (play-by-play) and Terry Crisp (color commentator) will be in the radio booth.

Callahan, who also contributes regularly to nashvillepredators.com and serves as a face in the community for the organization, came to Nashville from the American Hockey League’s Peoria Rivermen, where he served as director of communications in 2007-08. Prior to working in Peoria, the Lackawanna, N.Y. native spent four seasons with the Augusta Lynx of the ECHL, and three seasons with the Elmira Jackals of the then-United Hockey League (now International Hockey League), serving in similar positions. He also has experience in then-Western Professional Hockey League (now Central Hockey League) and in minor league baseball.

Tom, who is a 1998 graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y., resides in Nashville with his wife Meaghan.

WILLY DAUNIC, PRE AND POST GAME HOST

No one in Nashville can match the vast array of experiences and insights of Willy Daunic, who joined The Zone in August of 2003. Willy offers his listening audience not only his personal experience of being an SEC basketball and baseball player but also his time as a professional baseball player with the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He has been a sports talk show host since 1993 and a Nashville resident since the fall of 1989 when he earned a scholarship to Vanderbilt University.
