The 2018 NFL Draft is officially over and the Tennessee Titans have received many positive “grades” on their draft report. The Titans traded up for all three of their top picks, and most people are really happy with GM Jon Robinson’s aggressive decisions.
Round 1 – 22nd Overall – Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama
The Titans traded up to the No. 22 pick in the first round to secure Alabama LB Rashaan Evans; with doing so, the Titans gave up No. 125 in the fourth round, for pick No. 215 in the sixth. Evans played a lot on the outside in college but many analysts say he has the physicality to fill the gap in the middle for the Titans.
Round 2 – 41st Overall – Harold Landry, LB, Boston College
The Titans drafted Boston College’s edge rusher Harold Landry in the second round at the No. 41 pick. The team was originally scheduled to pick at No.57 but Robinson wanted Landry – so he went for it, trading away the team’s third round pick to lock Landry down. Robinson believes Landry has the potential to make an immediate impact in Tennessee and even be one of the best edge rushers in the NFL. Landry is excited to be in Nashville and says he’s ready to get to work for the Titans.
Round 5 – 152nd Overall – Dane Cruikshank, DB, Arizona
The Titans moved up again in the fifth round to select Arizona defensive back Dane Cruikshank. They drafted Cruikshank at pick No. 152 – trading away picks 162 and 215. Cruikshank had a pre-draft visit to Saint Thomas Sports Park and had an impressive NFL Combine. Jon Robinson and analysts around the NFL credit his versatility in what makes him a good pick for the Titans.
Round 6 – 199th Overall – Luke Falk, QB, Washington State
Lastly, the Titans drafted Washington State QB Luke Falk in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. Falk was taken with the 199th overall pick. Interesting note, this was the same pick that the Patriots took Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft. Falk adds to the Titans list of quarterbacks, joining Mariota, Blaine Gabbert, and Tyler Ferguson. QB Alex Tanney was released by the Titans on Monday morning.
Overall, most NFL analysts graded the Titans with either an A or B grade; not too bad.
